We are each honored to have been elected to serve a second term on the Rocky River Board of Education. We are proud of the work the Board has done over the last few years, and are excited to continue that work in partnership with other Board members, our Superintendent and Treasurer. Congratulations to Meri Armour on her victory - we look forward to working with her in service of students, staff and our community.

You are encouraged to stay involved in the community and in our schools. We need engaged and supportive neighbors to continue the good work of the district and service to kids, staff, and families.

Lauren and Jess are running for a second term on the Rocky River City Schools Board of Education. Lauren and Jess have three core priorities driving their campaign:

Maintaining excellence for all Rocky River students
Supporting a successful transition to new district administrative leadership
Ensuring equitable access for all students in RRCSD

About Jessica Wilson

Jess will continue to draw upon her long career in educational leadership to add knowledge, professionalism, and credibility to the Board. As a Rocky River parent, she holds a vested interest in our district’s ongoing success. She is passionate about ensuring schools meet the ever-evolving needs of students and will advocate on behalf of every learner in our district.

Jess holds a bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University and a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
She served as the Executive Director of Talent Impact at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District where she implemented evaluation and performance management systems for all 5,000+ employees; managed the district’s licensure and certification efforts; and served on the CEO’s Senior Leadership Team.
Currently, Jess serves as President of Hendy Avenue Consulting, where she leads a team supporting several education-based projects focused on talent and academic strategy and long-term planning at the district and state level.

Throughout her career, Jess has collaborated with several top-performing public districts and visited dozens of schools across the country. She has a keen understanding of best practices in both academics and operations, and will use this awareness to inform policy and reinforce our district’s long-standing tradition of excellence.

Jess is a native west-sider; she and her husband David relocated to Rocky River in 2014. Her two children attend Rocky River Middle School, and have been enrolled in RRCS since they were each in preschool. When not working with clients or fulfilling her Board duties, Jess can mostly be found driving her children to theater rehearsals or cheering at volleyball games and cross country meets.

About Lauren Negrey

Lauren will continue to draw upon her experience as both an educator and a licensed professional counselor to bring insight, integrity, and balance to the Board. She is deeply invested in the district’s success as a Rocky River parent and is committed to strong, stable schools that support every student’s growth. Lauren is passionate about fostering inclusive excellence so every student can thrive and every voice in the community is valued.

Lauren holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Education in School and Community Counseling from Ohio University.
Earlier in her career, Lauren served as a school counselor at Mansfield Local and Chardon Local Schools, gaining firsthand insight into the important role schools play in children’s lives and the challenges educators face. This perspective continues to shape how she evaluates policies and decisions, keeping student learning and staff effectiveness at the center.
Currently, Lauren practices as a licensed professional counselor specializing in behavioral and emotional support while helping clients reach their full potential. Her empathetic, genuine, and growth-focused approach translates directly into thoughtful, balanced decision-making on the Board.

Lauren’s experiences as both a school counselor and a licensed professional counselor have strengthened her ability to listen actively, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively. Guiding students, educators, and clients through complex challenges has honed her empathetic, adaptable communication—skills she brings to support inclusive, balanced, and effective Board decisions.

Lauren and her husband, Dan, have called Rocky River home for nearly two decades. Their three children attend Kensington, Rocky River Middle School, and Rocky River High School, participating in a variety of athletic and extracurricular activities. Lauren is an active volunteer with the schools and PTAs. When she’s not working with clients or serving on the Board, she enjoys cheering on her children and exploring the Metro Parks and Lake Erie with her family and dog, Griffey.
